A meeting

went for st john today.
had spring cleaning.

Mr Bryan Lim,
i was in charged of the FILTHY Bilik Kebajikan,
thanks to you lo!
(btw, jiayou in SIR!)

was cleaning the room with another junior, it was filthy.
i asked,
'what am i given this room?'
and the answer was
'to utilise your capability'

haha, we were the only ones who really wore mask for cleaning.

The climax of the day came after the cleaning,
attended a meeting.

blimey,
haven't attended a meeting which made 6 people to cry...
and i am still,
taken aback....

people bombarding here and there, rather unproductively.
the conductor just kept quiet,
i don't know why.

couldn't stand the situation any longer,
decided to try helping to solve every thing.

wanted every one to list their problems one by one.
only then, we can have a clear view of what is happening,
and tackle one by one.

that is my strategy, always is.

but it just didn't seem to work with that team...
they didn't really cooperate.

not telling their problems when they were given the chance.

and when we proceeded to solutions,
they exploded, only then, throwing out more problems....
and say others do not understand the situation...

if every one thinks alike, understands the same,
where do we find complexity?

stop complaining,
but enlighten those whom you think do not understand....

i was told not to comment further for a few times,
but i simply ignored..
wanted it to be productive..
after trying several times,
i give up.
my plan just simply cannot click with them.

sat there and looked at the way they wanted the meeting to be...

found it time-wasting.

so i left...

conducted numerous meetings in life...
never seen any meeting so so out of control.
they don't want to accept my help, so i let them be what they want.

The problems.
1stly, certain members have heavy workload,
super heavy ones,
which they can't cope with.

they should have voiced out much much earlier,
and look for assistance.
if the chairman ignores,
look for someone else who can help.

and NOT,
explode only after a few months....

2ndly, certain members expect others to contribute more.

But, they never tell what kind of contribution do they need.

end up?
blaming others for being selfish,
not doing any thing.

as i said,
no one thinks a like.
tell,
if you need help...

3rdly, certain members over magnify and amplify minor problems..

if i were to discover the same problem,
i would have ignored it, and left it aside.

because it isn't significant!

but these members just simply over estimated the impact...

maybe they lack experience, and have never seen real problems...

----------------------------------------------------------------
The members who exploded in the meeting,
were those who really love the team.
they really contributed a lot,
and that's why,
they discovered problems,
and want to solve them.

but please,
slowly enlighten every one with the problems,
and solve them one by one....

and not to waste hours,
ended up with nothing...

P.S:
if the next meeting is going to be that disorganised again....
i certainly will leave once it is time....
not going to waste any more time listening to people shouting and do not want to listen to better ways...
