WHEN CAN PEOPLE LEARN PUNCTUALITY?
WHO ARE YOU TO WASTE OTHER PEOPLE'S TIME?

In the librarians' board,
i am known as a person who sticks to punctuality,
and at the same time, inculcate punctuality.

I lock the door when major meeting starts, you are late, you don't come in.

I question those who are late for minor meetings, i just want to know, why are you late?
if you have good reason, then i say, try not to be late next time k?
if you have lame excuse, then i say, STAND.

WHY BE LATE? when you can be punctual.

after exam, i have more than 20 tasks listed, now solving them one by one.
Priority was given to the preparation for teacher's day.
I ended my exam on tue, teacher's day is on thurs.

Suggested to the class leader one month ago that we should buy presents for our teachers,
told him to take the lead and discuss with all members of 5S1,
he said ok, ok.
i knew, there will be no product.
since so, I happily volunteered to do it.
I am ready to take the lead, i always want to show appreciation to teachers.
asked him because he is supposed to be the leader in class.
thought he would have taken charge.

chocolates,
pens,
class photo were our presents to the teachers.
(They love it!)

took class photo after moral exam, there was a free slot, luckily.
PLANNED to print on Wednesday, day before teacher's day.
(collected orders from class members too)

PLANNED to buy pens on Tuesday night.

PLANNED to buy chocolates on Wednesday afternoon.

And then, Thursday, present them.

I don't like last minute work, but i have no choice this time, EXAM.
hence, i prayed hard and made sure every thing went on smoothly,
and gladly, every thing was on plan.

didn't relieve until i got back home with every thing done.
had never tried to be so so last minute.
although i was quite certain i can do it, i still felt unsecured.

Conclusion is,
I did it!
together with some class members who helped out with the writings and cards.
and of course, with all 5S1 members who supported.


If,
i were to procrastinate,
i will never be able to go according to my plan.

If i buy any thing one day later,
then i am doomed!
every thing has to be IN PLAN.
wasting zero second,
grasping every second.

Ironically,
when i am able to do all these,
the school admin and certain board don't seem to be able to work IN PLAN.

There was this rehearsal for the Teacher's Day ceremony on Wednesday.
and librarians were involved in the perbarisan.

1st starting time told: 9am
hence, all those who were involved were informed.
a number of them were even from afternoon session,
who haven't ended their exam.
They came to school early to rehearse.

last minute on that morning, when time was reconfirmed, the teacher said
2nd starting time told: 10am
and there goes an hour wasted.
Worse still,
the teacher didn't inform us,
we had to look for her and ask.
We following t he time you said and didn't expect any changes,
if there is any, isn't it their responsibility to inform?
No responsibility, nor punctuality.

then 10am, all the members were in the hall already.
another party was also involved.
and there was Zero member from that party.
and the teacher who said 10am, was also not there.
And i knew, they are late again.

Went and look for the teacher, and she said,
it will definitely start at 10.30am.
SHIT!
another 30 minutes, wasted.
and she asked me to look for the leader of that party, and inform him.

spent 10 minutes looking for him, can't find.
and i went for his assistant.
He seemed vague, not knowing what was happening.
which in fact, he was in charge.

I was angry,
I hate people who waste time and my time.

so my tone was quite harsh.
asking him to either get his leader, or his members.
to get in the hall at 10.30am.

Heart pounding, feeling super unfair for my members.
who are they to let them wait?
and waste their time?
it was absurd!

Then, the rehearsal started.
was back in the hall only after 15 minutes.

There was no senior from the other party to supervise,
and i had to do the job again.
They purported that they rehearsed for once.
but when i asked them to try for once,
it was like ZERO.

and i had to restart the whole thing.
and what was the representative from the other party doing?
nothing!

What irritates me the most is the ineptitude of the school admin to plan an event, and to start an event ON TIME.
It is shameful to be late.
Especially when more than 1 party are involved.
YOU MAKE PEOPLE WAIT, AND WASTE THEIR TIME!
WHO ARE YOU!?

I always use this anecdote to tell my librarians,
a team works like a machine.
If any screw,
any nut,
or any gauge doesn't play their part,
the whole machine fails,
and the team fails.
and punctuality is a part to play.
Definitely is.

It wasn't my first time coordinating with this teacher and this party.
every time.
NOT PUNCTUAL.
YOU ALL HAVE TO LEARN-
PUNCTUALITY.

IF NOT, DON'T PLAN! DON'T LEAD!
(What kind of quality is the school inculcating?
when students are late to school, you punish.
when students hand in homework late, you punish.
then how about when events start late for numerous time?!)

That was the 1st issue, yesterday morning came the second, for jogathon.
When i knew on thurs that it would be like last year,
in which we will get the number only in the morning,
i knew it definitely would be shambolic, a havoc.

so this morning, my herald was proven correct.

students were gathered at the basketball court.
numbers were distributed to students,
very randomly.
some received, some did not.

Safety pins were distributed,
also very randomly.
some received, some did not.
apparently, they didn't buy enough pins.
past few years, one student would get 8 pins, 4 in front, 4 behind.
funtastically this year, once student MUST ONLY use 2 pins, for in front.
and no number will be pinned behind.
It was rather hilarious to have such crazy planning.
it is only the most 20cents for 8 pins.
and that makes it impossible to have enough?
i don't understand.

Coupons were also distributed very randomly,
some received, some did not.

Every thing was just SHAMBOLIC.

if they really have planned,
then they are crazy and unskilled planners.

if they did not ever plan,
then they practically plan to fail.
Handling 1000 students is not like handling 1000 books,
in which you can do what you want, what you like.
People are ALL DIFFERENT.
blimey!

Of the discipline master wasn't there to shout and to have shows of hands,
then it would have taken hours.
luckily she was there to help,
or it would have been more chaotic.
Credits.

Is it so hard to plan?
I doubt that.
I haven't organized any event this terribly.

If the admin ever needs solution, there are plenty.

1st.
Distribute every thing,
coupons, numbers, pins,
the day before the jogathon.
class by class.
don't handle huge group of students in one shot.
but class by class.

2nd.
i heard that they didn't want to give coupons to those who aren't coming.
and they didn't give the numbers beforehand because they are afraid they will lose it.
Fine.
set up counters early in the morning,
and instruct students the day before to collect all those stuffs once they reach school.
after collecting, then they get ready, and have no worries.
the same thing,
handle small group by small group.
NOT ALTOGETHER.

3rd.
If last minute distribution is the best option (which is crazy)
then,
ask students to sit in rows.
straight rows.
and give one by one.
set by set.
not randomly,
when no one is in a line.

4th.
BUY ENOUGH MATERIALS BEFORE HAND!
THERE WAS AMPLE TIME!

(I can get my stuffs prepared in 2 days, why not the admin?)

Definitely failure in planning.
wasting students' time, sitting there.

I can never accept people who are late for no reason or due to no planning.
a lot of emergencies will pop out any time, i know.
and those are acceptable reasons.
BUT NOT WHEN YOU MAKE EMERGENCIES HAPPEN.

PLAN WITH THOROUGH DELIBERATION,
WITH REAL PLANNING!

(P.S: I still enjoyed the jogathon after the crazy assembly.

I am already in a jovial holiday mood.
