A SOMBRE JUBILATION

Jubilation, is a success, a victory.
When you feel jubilant,
It is when something which was high up the sky, now, in your hands.
But today’s jubilation, has an element of sombreness beneath.
It’s a jubilation for all Form 5s, who have come this far.
But to the board, it is sombre.

Since the first second we received our grey tie,
Inevitably, irrevocably, we are BONDED.
BONDED, to the board.

If the board is the cation,
Then we, librarians, are the anions.
All bonded strongly, powerfully, by an electrovalent force.
Complementing, one another.
Sharing devotion, passion,
L-O-V-E.

Memories can never ever be pure joy.
A seed of sadness in it, is what make it yours,
authentic, unique.
With years of service to the board,
I am pretty sure, that the board has engraved certain colours in our pages of lives.
Blue?
Red?
Purple?

These memories are definitely memorable, invaluable.
Happy or sad, it doesn’t matter.
Tonight,
A mere comma ‘,’ is placed in your life as a librarian, but NEVER, a fullstop ‘.’

Our bond,
EVERLASTS.

When you are at your next crossroads,
Choose wisely.
Straight?
Left?
Or Right?

We are only reluctantly waving goodbye,
letting you go,

To venture your very own future,
To colour your very own colour.
To brave forward, to the next milestone.
To blast, with sparkles.

WE MADE OUR WORLD,
NOW,
YOU MAKE YOURS.

When we bid farewell tonight,
It follows with deep gratitude blessings, wishes and love,
From the innermost core,
Of ours.

May you,
move every step,
vigilantly.
Remember,
ardent supporters are just beside you,
hands prepared, to pull you up.

May you,
attain the star in your sky.
at the same time, remember,
the board.

May you,
have an honoured retirement.
with a sparkling future ahead.
LASTLY,

May you,
have a
SOMBRE JUBILATION.

With gratitude, devotion, wishes, love &
slight reluctance,

(19/12/2010)
